…Now that it doesn’t require a parka to enjoy time outside, let’s take a look at the great outdoor activities here in Dallas!
1. The Katy Trail, a 3.5 mile path starting in Victory Park and ending at Airline Drive, is loved by bikers and runners, as well as “non-athletes” out walking their dogs. Even better, you can make a pit stop at the Katy Trail Ice House for a quick bite to eat.
2. If jogging isn’t your thing (don’t worry, it’s not mine either), the Dallas Arboretum offers a peaceful place for admiring flowers and spectacular landscaping. Starting at $15, “Day Time Passes” can be used at any point throughout 2013.
3. If you’re looking to get out of the “SMU bubble,” take a short drive to White Rock Lake. Whether you’re with friends or looking for time by yourself, there’s plenty to do, from kayaking to walking.
4. And here’s something new: Klyde Warren Park. The recently opened park in downtown Dallas offers Yoga, Zumba and weeknight concerts for young and old.
So, get out there and enjoy this bright, beautiful Dallas weather. And be grateful you’re not dealing with the snowstorms hitting the northeast this week.
Perfect day for getting outside in Dallas. Great suggestions. –Prof. Flournoy
Love all of these ideas- the weather has been perfect for spending a day outside lately! And I love that you included some active and some relaxing outdoor ideas!
Defintely gong to take your advice and put it to good use this week with the 72 degree weather! I’m so curious to see what Klyde Warren Park looks like!
I really like this post! I wrote about the Katy Trail too and I am so glad someone loves it as much as I do
